Porter Company, Publishers, 1899. First edition; program for the 1899 Fourth Boston Food Fair. Original gray wrappers printed in green and gold, 84 pages (plus inserted chromolithographic plate), profusely illustrated in black-and-white, with double-sided color plate, advertising Shredded Wheat dishes. Good condition, with early staining on spine and upper margin of covers and text, short tear at crown, small chip on rear cover, otherwise text and illustrations are complete and sound. A rare and desirable program documenting Boston’s gastronomical history. Currently absent from the trade.
