Photograph Notes: This L3 type electricity pylon stands in an area of wet ground and is surrounded by a splendid reed bed. It also lies alongside an old waggonway which carried coal from the local collieries down to the River Tyne for onward transportation. The Silverlink Biodiversity Park was created in 1996, on the site of a former rubbish tip, as part of a new business park development scheme. It was declared a Local Nature Reserve in 2005.
