Old Chinese Longevity Pewter and Brass Wall plate Or Ashtray.

I reached out to a friend of mine that speaks Chinese and the symbol apparently means long life or longevity. This is a very heavy plate weighing in at 1 lbs. 8 oz. Even with my extensive research I cannot find if this is a wall plate, a dish, or an ashtray. Seems like it could be used for any of that. I believe it to be made out of pewter and brass.

There are some imperfections on the dish but I have not polished it.
