ORIGINAL Antique 1940’s NEPTUNE GAS PUMP 855, w/ Guts, Rust-Free WILL SHIP:
$2150.00

Here is a very hard-to-find, original Neptune 855 gas pump. It is in very nice, original condition and is rust-free!I believe it is from the 1940s--perhaps even late 1930s.
All of its internal components appear to be intact and in very good, original condition. The glass in the main panel looks to be in good condition, but it is missing the small piece of advertising glass. (I believe that’s what it’s called.) It measures approximately 72\" high, 25\" wide, and 16\" deep. I am posting detailed, high-resolution photos, so you can see exactly what you are getting. From what I understand, everything that is needed to completely restore it is available on the net.
I was told that It originally came from a small, remote U.S. Forest Service compound in the mountains of Southern Oregon, not far from Crater Lake. The Forest Service purchased it new and installed in the compound. The area is known as Union Creek, and is verypicturesquewith huge old growth timber, lava tubes, a creek, a little store, café, rustic forests service cabins, etc. This pump was nestled in the old growth timber in the compound.
It was possibly the very first gas pump they ever installed and was used by fire-fighting crews, rangers etc.for the early vehicles they used in the area.Another thing that makes this pump special is that it wouldn\'t have been used nearly as much as a pump in a commercial station, and it still has it\'s original delete panel on top because the government wouldn\'t have used an advertising globe. I think the only reason they pulled it out of service is because they thought it was outdated. It is a really neat part of local history, but we don\'t have any museums or areas to display it, so I figure I should find a good home for it where it will be restored and displayed, with its history intact.
I can band this pump to a pallet and ship it to you through a local freight company.Just send me your zip code if you would like a shipping quote.(If you prefer to have it shipped without the internal motor in order to save some money on shipping, I would be willing to remove those parts for you.)Feel free to e-mail me if you need any additional photos or have any questions. Thanks for viewing this listing.
