- ORDER YOUR TEST - A doctor will review your order and we'll customize it based on your birth control. If you are on hormonal birth control, you will test 1 hormone, AMH. AMH is a very important hormone released by the follicles that serves as an indicator of ovarian reserve, or, egg quantity. AMH tells you how many eggs you have "waiting in the wings" and can give you insight into menopause timing, as well as your responses to procedures like IVF and egg freezing.
