All in excellent condition. Hard plastic protector. Measures 8.5RD 5.25H

Introduced to Regular Line in August 2007 (Fall 2007 WishList) Retired August 31, 2009. American Work Basket\'s unique shape comes from Maine basketmaking traditions. Originally the four pointed bottom was designed to preserve the basket from daily wear and tear. However it also added strength and allowed for air to circulate around the food stored inside.

In order to achieve the contours of the basket, after the bottom is woven, it is placed on a weaving form and pressed into the final shape. Burn logo, weaver\'s initials and the date are all found on the inside band.

American Work Basket also features Deep Brown tapered trim strip and two leather handles. Accompanying WoodCrafts Lid features a shortened knob designed to work with the curved bottoms to accommodate stacking.

8\" American Work Basket holds up to 10 lbs.

The Longaberger Company, Dresden Ohio, created handwoven baskets out of hardwood maple sourced from the US, pottery, hand-forged wrought iron and other items for over forty years, from 1973 to 2018. The company reopened in 2019 with artisans still located in Dresden Ohio who create baskets just as they had for a century before. Longaberger baskets are handwoven baskets and initialed by the artisan who created them. At the height of the company\'s popularity there were over 4,000 weavers and over 70,000 home consultants. As a consultant for over 20 years, I have a great deal of inventory that was either stored or used for display purposes.
