Rare Full Time Only 1940s Willard Banjo Clock made by Chelsea Clock W/Key WORKSNo PendulumThis sale is for an antique, Rare 19th century Banjo Clock time only made by Willard Banjo clock made by the Chelsea Clock Company. Measuring 41” long, including the 3” tall gilded Bronze Eagle finial.
This timepiece features:
On top of this timepiece sits a golden 3” eagle, above a 6-inch hinged bezel spring driven movement painted metal dial with Arabic numerals and labeled CHELSEA just above the key wind.
Flat frames enclosing reverse-hand painted tablets, the waist flanked by cast brass side ornaments in a mahogany case featuring a beautiful reverse hand-painted throat, the lower hinged tablet of the naval battle between the \"CONSTITUTION AND GUERRIERE\" (Perry\'s Victory) with hand-lettered title below the painting. Carved and molded lower pedestal and eight-day time-only lever-escapement movement.
Condition:
This clock does work, we tested, please see the pictures, one was taken with 4 pm and the other at 4.10 pm.
The case on this banjo clock is also in very good condition with only some light scratches, expected edge wear at the back of the clock has some kind of tape to protect the clock. The 6” diameter dial has only some light surface rubs.
This clock comes along with its original, long brass and key. Clock is a balance wheel movement.
Very good condition for its age, the clock works. Needs minor repair to exterior mahogany. Please see all the pictures they are part of the description
