DETAILS:Original one sixth plate tintype photographof anfemale prostitute. Circa 1870. Note the female's relaxed pose. At the time such poses were considered to be highly provocative. Most likely taken at a brothel for a patron who wanted amemento of his visit. Because of the prohibitive costs of photography at the time, only very wealthy patrons could afford such a luxurioussouvenir. Measures 2 1/4" x 3 1/2" inches.
