This is an authentic wedding mask from the Congo (formerly Zaire). It is not a tourist replica but was purchased by parents when they were stationed in Burkina Faso and Cote D'ivoire. The mask is stunning with cowrie shells inlaid around it and bright colors to offset the earth tones. A must for the African mask collector. Personally I have not seen too many like this around.
