Fine antique Victorian to Edwardian era Black Forest hand carved 17 1/4” tall “Fruits of the Hunt” themed wall carving or plaque, a large bird or grouse figure with foliate accents! The figure quite large and depicted hung as if fresh from the hunt. Carved from one solid block of wood, painstakingly sculpted down to the wonderful figure and surroundings you see here. Normally we see these figural groupings mounted on a larger oval wall panel, this one just the figures so it could be that the plaque was warped or damaged over the years, or just that the carving was the original intended result. A wonderful wall-hanging decorative accent no matter.

Good to very good condition. Likely a few small chips and possibly missing vine segments. Looking from the back of the carving, you can see a few breaks that have been glued and reinforced by small wood segments. See pictures for all measurements.

Our shipping days are Tuesday and Friday, paid items will be shipped on the first shipping day after payment is received (except when special circumstances exist). We prefer to use USPS whenever possible, and require all packages to be insured. If you prefer another method of shipment, please mention it.
