This vintage Tibetan Buddhist ceremonial brass and copper dragon horn is a highly decorative piece, featuring ornate figuration and smooth, welded copper sheeting. The curved, graduated form of the horn suggests it was most likely used as a ceremonial trumpet or horn. The reed on the inside of the dragons mouth is loose . This would cause a whislting sound said to scare away bad spirits . Does not work as it but may be able to position back in place.

The brass and copper welded sheeting limits the melodic range, but the metal linked hanging chain is complete with the mouthpiece and chain.

The Dbang Dung is a Tibetan Buddhist trumpet that was used in various ceremonial events. This particular piece is believed to be from the early to mid-20th century, circa 1930-1955. The handcrafted horn is in unaltered and untouched condition, with embossed, bas-relief, ornamental brass sections. It is a 100% original vintage condition, handmade Tibetan period decorative accessory that adds a touch of mysticism and culture to any collection.
