Vintage 1940s WWII Era Photo album
Measures approximately 15 1/2" x 11 1/2". Weighs 3pounds 15ounces prior to packaging.
I counted 505 pictures in this album!!
I think the album covers are leather but I'm not positive on that.
Some great snapshots of the 1940s. I didn't see a lot of identifying information. Some photos are in the corners that can be removed, some are glued in. I looked at the backs of a few and did not see any names or writing. There is a little newspaper clipping of a sailor from Williamsburg. I also seen a picture with a young man that had a letterman's jacket with the initials JS and a patch that shows 1944 champs on his jacket. I believe the letters JS would stand for Jersey Shore which is a town in Northern Pennsylvania. (I'm just guessing at that) There may be other clues to help you figure out where this album originated.
Other pictures I've seen include many military pictures, It looks like some family pictures and a lot of friends pictures. There are pictures taken at beaches, some in Florida. Some of the military pictures I believe are in Florida. Some friends pictures also in Florida.
A lot to look at here!! This album makes me smile. Great peek into the past!!
