This is an EXCEPTIONAL, RARE FIND! A set of three SANG DE BOEUF, very large vases, in the richest oxblood hue, with a wonderful pedigree. This set was chosen by Michael S. Smith (yes, THAT Michael S. Smith — who helped the Obamas decorate the White House, along with a roster of celebrity clients (Steven Spielberg, Michelle Pfeiffer, Cindy Crawford, George Clooney, Rupert Murdoch, et al) for the Brentwood Park estate of James Belushi, where two of the three vases were last photographed adorning side tables in the dining room (for Architectural Digest).

We bought these last year and thought we had the perfect place for them… but we do not. So prior to hitting up our usual 1st Dibs dibs list, we’re putting them up here.

The approximate measurements are as follows:

Heights: 12.5” to 13” (one is slightly taller by 1/2”, however, measuring with a tape measure and not a ruler, it is difficult to judge the exact difference)

Bases are 5” to 5.5” diameter. The top diameters 5.5” to 5.8”

These are exquisite pieces,, which will work wonderfully in a traditional decor as well as lend a somewhat more historical air to a more modernist setting. The one caveat we would suggest is that they do require SPACE… breathing room around them, as they really should not be surrounded with too much “stuff” — unless, of course, you also possess that unerring eye of Michael S. Smith, who can put so much more into a room and make it all work. (As amateurs, we stick to more of a foolproof minimalist aesthetic).
