1966 APOLLO 1 (SA 201) AND APOLLO 2 (SA 202) ENGINEER\'S ON BOARD CAMERA FLIGHT FOOTAGE! (16mm on reel)

From the private collection of the highly esteemed, 24 year NASA Engineer,  James B. (Brad) Downs.

HIGHLY COLLECTIBLE ENGINEER\'S FOOTAGE RECORDED ON BOARD THE FIRST TWO APOLLO FLIGHTS ON THE SATURN 1B LAUNCH VEHICLE!!

☆APOLLO 1 WITH SATURN 1B LAUNCH VEHICLE (SA 201) February 26, 1966 AND

☆APOLLO 2 WITH SATURN 1B LAUNCH VEHICLE (SA 202) August 25, 1966

The following is an Excerpt from Wikipedia, which suggests that this footage may be about the engineering capabilities of the service propulsion system, reaction control systems and the heat shield\'s capability to protect the command module during re-entry from low Earth orbit:

\"AS-201 (Also known as SA-201, Apollo 1-A, or Apollo 1), flown February 26, 1966, was the first uncrewed test flight of an entire production Block I Apollo command and service module and the Saturn IB launch vehicle. The spacecraft consisted of the second Block I command module and the first Block I service module. The suborbital flight was a partially successful demonstration of the service propulsion system and the reaction control systems of both modules, and successfully demonstrated the capability of the command module\'s heat shield to survive re-entry from low Earth orbit.\"

Please feel free to research the Apollo 2 (SA 202) mission for more information.

Included in this purchase is the original \"TECHNICOLOR\" PHOTOGRAPHIC WORK ORDER, WHICH INDICATES IT WAS REQUESTED BY BRAD DOWNS AND WHICH CONFIRMS TECHNICAL DETAILS WRITTEN ON THE LABEL ATTACHED TO THE FACE OF THE REEL CANNISTER, AND ALSO CONFIRMS THAT THIS FOOTAGE IS FROM THE APOLLO\'S ON BOARD CAMERA!

In Pre-owned condition with notable rusting on the reel cannister and a vinegar-type scent coming from film footage. I see no rust on the reel itself or on the film.

I unwound just enough film to capture the two handwritten sections referencing flights \"SA 201\" and \"SA 202\", which are Apollo 1 and Apollo 2.

I have not viewed this film and I am not an expert on NASA or on engineering data, so your guess is as good as mine as to what is on this 400 foot film footage (approx. 10 minutes of footage).  I\'m happy to answer questions I can.

Without having the capability of viewing this footage, I do not guaranty the playability of this 59 year old film on a projector. To my untrained eyes, I see no visible rust on the reel or on the film, just a vinegar-type smell on the reel/film.  My amateur internet search regarding protecting vintage 16mm film is to have the film converted onto a digital format.
