Danny Fitzgerald and Les Demi Dieux
Surprisingly contemporary in his approach to both the male physique and photographic technique, the man that called himself \"Les Demi Dieux\" (which is French for \"the demigods\") was little known among collectors until after his death. Danny Fitzgerald\'s work appeared in beefcake publications like Demi Gods and Young Physique in the early 1960s, featuring popular models like Jerry Albanese, Richard Bennett and Vince Perri. But the images we have found to be most intriguing are those of Brooklyn street hooligans posing between their Buicks and against the chain links of the local basketball courts, or country youths posing deep in the back woods.

—Brooklyn Boys, our book on Fitzgerald, was released at the end of 2013 and celebrated with an exhibit at one of the most prestigious Chelsea galleries in New York City. Fitzgerald\'s partner and muse Richard Bennett was on hand with us to sign books at the opening reception.

Condition
Measuring 4-by-5-inches, this vintage photograph is printed on heavy glossy stock and is in very good condition. There are borders on two sides only. Quality and clarity are very good.
