1800s Marchand\'s Peroxide of Hydrogen Bottle Embossed NY Victorian Medicine:
$22.00
This is an antique Marchand\'s Hydrogen Peroxide bottle embossed, \"4 oz - Marchand\'s Peroxide of Hydrogen - Medicinal - New York\" dating to the 1800s. The seam stops at the neck of the old cork topped bottle (see photos). There are no marks on the bottom. The glass is thick and heavy. The vintage, amber-brown medicine bottle was found by my father more than 45 years ago in the ruins of an old Plantation in Virginia. The antique bottle is in gorgeous condition, free from breaks or cracks. There are age related air bubbles and a few scratches in the glass. Embossing is sharp, clarity and color are very nice. The old remedy bottle measures about 5.75\" tall and 2\" wide.Charles Marchand was a French Chemist known for formulating and producing a stable form of hydrogen peroxide during the later half of the 1800s. Prior to his work, hydrogen peroxide was an \"unstable curiosity\". He moved to New York and successfully patented, marketed and produced his \"peroxide of hydrogen\" in the late 1800s.For more
