Re: Feo2: Justice Department (Kethrie)

I'm sorry you chose to feel you were being attacked, either for your ideals or for your creative spelling. It certainly was not my intention to do so. Please understand, I have nothing against creativity. My best friend in all this world can't spell for s***. I've known her for eighteen years. She's by no means intellectually challenged; she just can't spell. You should see some of my posts here before I proofread them. So I make no assumptions.

If you honestly think and believe that animal testing is wrong, what are you doing to change that? What are you doing personally to find a less distasteful alternative, one that does not use live animals? Don't take that as an attack; take it as a thoughtful, considerate question. I don't use cosmetics (make-up) at all; that is one of my choices to make a statement about the use of animals for testing cosmetic ingredients. It would take far more than cosmetics to make my appearance palatable to the general public anyway.

I agree that posting certain things on a science board is silly. Proselytizing and huckstering come to mind readily. Perhaps the author was trying to draw some scientific discussion, and it backfired due to their lack of specificity or having asked the question poorly. It might have just been a case of Internet hit-and-run, who knows? Kind of like Peep.

"For me to be disposed to be polite and courteous, it needs be doen to me as well. and your thinly veiled rudness was shown thru all of your posts towards me.

think on that before you say i was rude and discourteous."

You and I seem to come from two very different worlds. Apparently you seem to interpret my careful politeness and deliberately stated courtesy as "thinly veiled rudeness". For my part, I find " suck it up. go bark up another tree" to be extremely unconducive to good interpersonal relationships. This appears to be a standard method of discourse these days. My Great...great grandfather the Graaf would have likely thrown you in a dungeon for talking like that, and on a bad day he might have been disposed to have your tongue removed. This is not a threat; it happened in Medieval Europe, and we are not in Medieval Europe. I merely offer it for comparison as to how our cultures differ. And while I find some kinds of modern language deplorable, I must admit that your remarks were rather effective in terminating that individual's conversation, which was probably a desirable action, all things considered. Like all forms of Magic, it ought to be used sparingly, though. It doesn't pay to savage all the natives. :-)
