Hmmmm. Certainly not a supernova. There hasn't been a supernova visible to the naked eye since the 16th century so that would have been worldwide news.
The time of day makes me think it could have been a satellite. It was in sunlight but you weren't. Then it passed into Earth's shadow and went out. Just a guess.
