If you want to discuss just global warming, there seem to me to be 2 problems with teaching it in a public school.
One is that they really don't have time to teach non-science in a scientific manner. They only have 12 years to teach the students enough to get them started in life. That doesn't leave much time for sidelines.
The other is that global warming is a religious belief. There is a constitutional separation between church and state, so that teaching a religious belief in a public school is unconstitutional.
