In a previous study, Paternal concentrations of dioxin and sex ratio of offspring Lancet 2000; 355: 1858-63 27 May 2000, just the opposite was found, far more girls.
If the latter study turns out to be correct, environmentalists are going to have a problem - black market PCB's, especially in other cultures where having a male offspring is all important.
I'm with you though, i tend to think it is just data dredging.
