The word that comes to mind is gobbledegook.

An exercise in intellectual massage (to use a kinder euphemism).

I think the phrase is so over-worn and over-used that it has lost all meaning and that your reasoning was probably something like ... "I'll come up with something that is neutral."

I too would reward your creativity.

But I'd have never asked so trite a question to a class.

Psychology is a pseudoscience trying like heck to get respect. In the end ... psychologists are as clueless as those that go to them. Which doesn't mean they don't help people. But then so does the confessional and so does a bartender.
