I really don't know of any boards that well tolerate 30 page posts, though i'm sure they exist. i do know of a few gov type science sites that will allow you to spill your guts on science related issues but i'm not really sure of the "membership" or submission criteria.
it is, to the best of my knowledge, sponsored by the U.S. National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Energy, and foremost by Los Alamos National Laboratory (one of my favorite government organizations [of which i have few favorites])
I also know of other, less protected (from my and their POV) sites that let you post on things like:
Religion (or freedom therefrom)
Philosophy (which is, IMO, just politics with a wrapper)
Anarchist/minarchist Politics (really just philosophy with a bent)*
Ignorant and mean-spirited conservative politics*
Even more ignorant and mean-spirited democrat politics*
And of course, purest (meaning of course, not so pure) libertarian politics.
