No misunderstanding. You wrote: " If you placed your bomb on the surface" ... but I specifically said "Replace one stone sarcophogus with one multimegaton thermonuclear weapon." indicating I meant deep within the pyramid. And while you are correct that the base might still be there, in semi-pulverized form, the top and sides would be somewhere else ... not far ... but the question was about moving it ... not about how far.

And I never suggested using a nuke on an asteroid. That would qualify as one of the dumbest things I can imagine. My suggestion was the far more subtle approach of altering its reflectivity and letting the Sun's radiation slowly alter the orbit. That this will work, given sufficient lead time, has been clearly established in the scientific literature for years.
