Mutating CMV promoter

poste8-188.crchul.ulaval.ca (132.203.188.8)The CMV promoter contains an NdeI restriction site, and I want to remove it by site-directed mutagenesis. I will only change one nucloetide (A to T), and I want to know if it can affect the promoter function. Will the promoter stay efficient? The mutation I will do do not change any amino acid (it's a silent mutation)...
