Yeah, well if you have ever read the Indian epic called the Mahabharata (think its spelt correctly)
Its a book more comprehensive than the Bible and considerably older. You can read all about the 'Vimanas' who flew around India using flying chariots propelled with quicksilver,and a hot wind, using a ray gun to kill off their enemys.You believe what you want to believe, but I have no doubt that simpletons are inclined to believe the more childlike storys around.
