"If I'm taller than you are it is because I am standing on the shoulders of giants". A lot of people helped towards the theory of relativity, but one man encapsulated it. The energy and committment to an idea is often as important as the idea itself. Einstein saw it's important and significence and committed himself. That's probably the difference in every field of endeavour, not just science.
