Glad to see you knew the answer.

Of course it would look different without them.

But that difference is NOT the difference pointed out at the top of the thread. There is no violation of the second law of thermodynamics whether the universe ends in a black hole or as photons.

Or, as I suspect, it is a Calabi Yau space and reaches a point at which it dynamically alters itself.
