To one who believes everything on personal faith, or more accurately emotion or passion, it certainly must seem that way.

But faith and firmly evidenced and reasoned belief are quite different. Faith is believing the short doorway in the hall just might be high enough to walk under. Evidenced and reasoned belief comes from constantly hitting your head on it and knowing better.
