Not fears of terrorists. This has been moving ahead since before 911. Did you happen to notice there was a change in the political atmosphere about the time we got off our butts and started to move ahead again? Yucca was ready to go 9 years ago when we elected a more "environmentally friendly" administration. They quickly put a stop to it prefering to store waste in neighborhoods rather than underground. Now that the environmentally evil Republicans are back in charge of DOE we are moving ahead with burying it again. Makes you wonder who's environmentally friendly and who isn't, doesn't it?
