I stopped caring, in a sense, when I discovered that the problem had nothing to do with lack of food but rather was wholly related to their government's wanting them to starve.

When the moral indigation is sufficient, especially from the so-called pro-lifers, that they are willing to force autocratic governments to distribute the food.

Then I will start caring in dollars. Until then, no matter how bad the problem, I will not let those governments intentionally starve people so they can steal money.
