NASA had dozens of people studying high resolution maps of Mars, counting and mapping the fainter Martian Craters. That project finished in 2001.

But I think it is going to start up again next month
(July) This time NASA wants YOU and your Home Computer, your eyes, and your Mouse to help trace out faint dusty Gorges and faint Riverbeds
NASA will download VHigh Resolution Blocks of Mars for you to work on. Its unpaid but you get training.
You even get to say you worked for NASA on MARS.
Hehehe.
