Science should be ignored as a guideline to moral and ethical decisions.
Just as moral and ethical decisions should be ignored when it comes to pure science.
Well I can already hear the yelling and screaming so let me explain. By pure science I mean investigations into the nature of things that do not, and can not, harm people. I am not referring to the misuses of science technology in the past such as some well known medical experiments.
What I mean is that in exploring the nature of astronomy, physics, geology, etc. one should not make scientific assessments based on the theology or philosophy d'jour.
