Behe of ID fame admits that God must also control selection. AIDS is God's curse on Africa (Pat Robertson), and the WTC bombing is God's revenge on immorality and homosexuals in NYC (Jerry Falwell). Why wasn't Jimmy Swaggart in NYC ...? I did some post-doc study with culture comparativist Mircea Eliade who says religious experience is ubiquitous – a fundamental subjective datum, randomly experienced, and randomly expressed (I was looking into the ethological origins of Islamic arbitration). The Gallup stats pretty much bear Eliade out. It's amazing science got off the ground in the first place.
