Yes make it to another galaxy.
But why think in terms of 100 years? Is that supposed to signify a "really really long time"?
Lets talk about the fact that 300 years ago the fastest way to get from point A to point B on this planet was to ride a horse. That the fastest method of long distance communications was smoke signals.
We will step from earth, to Mars, to another star system to another galaxy unless human stupidity puts an end to us. And it may take 10,000 or 20,000 years before we master that ability. But so what? We, as a species, don't have anything better to do with ourselves over the next 20,000 years do we?
If the best we can hope for is just some small incremental improvements in our knowledge from now until the sun goes nova we might as well all start drinking the Jim Jones CoolAid now.
We are going to the galaxies ... or we will die trying.
