he expressed it particularly well...and to great effect

it therefore had significant influence on modern thought

many have believed the lie due to his power of persuasion

he joins the ranks of darwin, huxley, haeckel, marx, another huxley, freud, maslow, simpson, asimov, mayr, lewontin, dawkins,and several others (the last three in that list are i think still living) who have profoundly influenced human thought in the wrong direction

of course, that is my opinion :-)
