Re: Global Warming (DA Morgan)

DA Morgan: A few centimeters can make a significant difference. Something you would know if you had taken the time to pursue some of the links I provided.

Southern Man: Help me out here. Which link says that you can move water upward 10 meters above sea level by raising it 1/1000th that far?

DA Morgan: None. And I don't cater to gross exaggerations.

Then what are you talking about? Seems you have been caught in a clearly untenable position saying that people are going to be driven out of their homes by a few centimeter rise in sea level and are now too embarrassed to admit your error. So you will suddenly change positions to the other side and claim you this was always your position?

And your gross exaggeration that anyone would be harmed by a few centimeter rise in seal level is the only gross exaggeration I see in this thread. So would you like to reconsider your claim?

Let’s try an experiment. Here is a real time picture of the ocean (best viewed from 1PM-1AM GMT). The camera is about 60 feet above sea level. This should be very similar to the elevation where the average person lives on the Christmas Island’s (elevation 0 - 260 feet above sea level). You watch this picture (press refresh every 30 seconds or so) and tell us when the camera goes underwater. We can then start to collect the few million dollars it will take to relocate the poor unfortunate people of Kiribati.
