It's possible, if an asteroid hit the mid-Atlantic; not unlikely, in fact, from what I understand. But it would be nearly impossible to predict. We had a near miss recently, and no one even saw it coming until a couple of days before potential impact. It was a blindsider, came in from the sunward side, no way to see it.
Of course, tsunamis travel in all directions from the point of propagation, so you could expect an Atlantic mega-tsunami to inundate a very large area of western Europe and Africa as well. That would devastate a great deal of Western civilization. Hmmm...
