We do, Dan, they're called "neighbors". But the fictional ones are much more, er, well behaved and genteel.

I only invented Rangar because I needed some "extraterrestrial" interest, and I needed him for a series of situations and interactions that depended on certain specialized abilities. I didn't know he was going to show up "in the flesh", on Earth, so to speak!

Now I'm worried about being accused of copyright infringement or something. What's a writer to do?
