earlier, somebody mentioned polyploidy and i wrote that i would look up some details in my genetics book.

according to the book i have, in 100,000 recognized pregnancies, there were 85,000 live births with zero polyploidal live births. in 15,000 spontaneous abortions, there were 7,500 chormosomally abnormal abortions, of these, 1275 were triploid, and 450 were tetraploid.

tho book this info came from is titled " Our Uncertain Heritage, Genetics and Human Diversity" by Daniel Hartl.

another book i have, has a picture of a triploid infant, a live birth. his head is enlarged, and this is said to be a common phenomenon in this situation.
