No the moons orbital period would change, because the angular momentum of the system would change. That would be one other effect in addition to the fact that the system would wobble differently.

If you want to figure out just how it would change go find a treatise on Newtons laws and study some calculus. The calculation is rather complex, but with the laws of gravitation and motion it can be readily performed. That is the beauty of Newtons laws. They have been very carefully checked and work extremely well, as long as you keep away from the effects of relativity (that is keep away from high speeds and high masses).
