Get the idea completely but can't agree it's a valid construct. From the point of view of the centre of earth the apple is moving around it while it stays still. (another construct I know). I don't think you can now stop the apple and stop the already stopped centre and call it valid. Could we run with the thing as it is without constructs and then does it look like I'm correct. I'm simple stating that the apple and the moon don't increase in velocity and the increase we see in the velocity of the apple is a redirection of its sideways motions towards the earth over time. It sounds so right.
