I truly believe cars will always be with us, for as long as man requires individual and personal transport. Once you are in your car, you create
your own private space cut off from the rest of the world. The ability to cruise and view the world without being touched. That is the unknown
strength of the car.
Which is why of course every auto-manufacturer is hell bent upon making sure the car is always with us.
As the article states, hybrid electric petrol
cars are around now. Using little more than a lawnmower engine to charge their batterys.
Nor does the mass production of Hydrogen for fuel cells nessesarily mean swapping one set of pollution for another. I believe Hydrogen can be generated by chemical means alone, just as Oxygen
can be. Water dripped onto Sodium Peroxide, produces Ogygen which can also be used in fuel cells.
The cars of tomorrow will be a lot different, but
we love the private freedom they provide.
