Theoretically if it works for golf balls, it should work for any hard surface that speeds thru the air. Basket balls I think would not work, since they present a large forward surface of air resistance, which is far greater than any minute effect realised by any hexagonal dimples on its surface.
Cricket balls and baseballs once they had been hit
by the bat might well benefit.
Once tests had proven the small increase in flight path length.....it would still remain for the Baseball Organisation to approve of any change to their existing approved ball.
