Like all formulae, theoretically it should work both ways.
I dont profess to have to much knowledge in this direction....But one does get enormous amounts of energy from a tiny mass. Therefore it would require an enormous amount of energy to create mass.
The only thought I can get upon this is....the creation of antimatter in the Synchotrons
Which in turn annialates back into pure energy upon meeting +matter.
(sorry 4 rush, goto take my son out)
