Ah, sorry. I forgot to actually say what polyploidy is. Its when the number of chromosome pairs changes, like for humans it would go from 23 to 46. It happens in plants a fair bit. What you are thinking of is polydactyly, (I think), like with Hemmingway's cats. Thanks anyway though.
