Bobbapink's site is a good one. It's infomation is technically accurate and correct. I would add only on thing. If you are in countries where the Queen's English is spoken and spelled, then the organism is "Vibrio cholerae"; if you're slumming in the USA, it's spelled "Vibrio cholera". The reason for the name is that "vibrio" is Latin for "comma", and the organism looks like that, a little comma-shaped rod. The "cholera" part comes from the disease it causes. Has to do with biliousness.
