The speed of light (and cause and effect)

(194.205.118.26)does anybody have a clue what happened to the fellow who apparently succeeded in propelling a partical above the speed of light in some accelerator somewhere.
did he repeat this featif so, it is claimed that he measured the particle leaving one space before it was measured entering it,
assuming that this is true, what effect would this have on the doctrine/principle of cause and effect.
additionally, what consequences would this have on relativity theory ie E=M*speed of light squared.
