Not stating as fact...just guesses.

You’re guesses are usually pretty good.

Brightness of the moon would damage the onboard instruments. Hubble is designed to view objects 100,000 times dimmer than the moon.
Can't focus on an object that close.
Cannot train on an object moving at such a great relative speed.

Looks like my calculation could have been off by a few orders of magnitude also? I said Hubble could resolve 25cm but this says 86,000cm. I based my calculation on the 0.05 arc-second resolution of the CURRENT Wide Field Camera. http://acs.pha.jhu.edu/instrument/overview/ .
