I don't know if I totally understand your argument. Yes, we don't know exactly why evolution works the way it seems to work, and we often don't know how.

However, a genetic "glitch" is a genetic "glitch". In my leicht informed opinion, if the gene is misplaced it will cause a change, and if it's not... I'll say initialized for lack of an expanded vocabulary, it will also cause a change.

So, exactly what's the problem?
