I'd just noticed while reading through scientificamerican.com a breakdown of the emissions of fossil fuel gasses by country, complete with line graphs.
http://www.sciam.com/2002/0402issue/0402numbers.html
Assuming this is accurate, it had me wondering what the Kyoto accord could do to justify limiting emmissions of developing countries, since they are by definition, developing.
So, I researched and found http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/world/europe/newsid_1252000/1252556.stm that showed the kyoto accord excludes developing countries from the quotas of emission reduction.
I also noticed from the scientific american site that the US produces 5.4 metric tons per capita, and 24 percent of total world emissions. Canada produces 4.2 metric tons per capita, but only 2 percent of the total world emissions.
